The Four D's and Congratulations West Thornhill!

Last night,  crazy antics were afoot when I was blessed with The Four D's - Dancing, Drinking, and a Designated Driver. Life does not get much better. We were celebrating one of my dearest friend's birthday. Ironically, her nickname is D. She requested we go see our friend's band, Donna the Buffalo play at the Blind Tiger. Their keyboard player, David McCracken, is another one of our dearest friends. That's a lot more than four Ds, isn't it? Anyway, it was lovely to reconnect, dance, and make joyful noise. David even came down off the stage in a rare occurrence, and danced with me. Needless to say, fun was had by all. Happy Birthday D, and Happy Early Birthday, David.

If you live in or around NC, you can wish David a Happy Birthday in person at DTB's upcoming Carrboro show next Thursday. It's always great dancing fun! They are also playing The Orange Peel in Asheville this weekend.

But, there is more big news in the friends and family antics camp! My friend and fellow college alumnae sister, West Thornhill, has her first book coming out tomorrow

Congratulations West Thornhill! Transcend is officially published!

When Gael Astley escapes life spent as a sadist's sex slave, his rescuer introduces him to a world he never knew existed. He quickly discovers he has the powers of telepathy and telekinesis, but is confused about what this means for this life. With the help of the one person he knows he can trust, Gael embarks on an intense training regime that ultimately leads to a new career as an agent for Fillmore, a top-secret paranormal group.

Jason Phillips, a member of the Fillmore team, has secrets of his own. Though he tries to keep his distance from Gael, the two men are drawn together like moths to flame. Will Gael overcome his own insecurities and see the possibilities offered or will his past come back to destroy him?

CONTENT ADVISORY: This title contains scenes of rape. Readers with a history of rape or sexual abuse may find this story disturbing. This title contains mentions of incest.

You can now purchase a copy of Transcend at Silver Publishing.

So, while I wait for the stars to align, I am celebrating here. Why the wait? Well, we are still working out timing so West and Andi Lea, our other alumnae sister and fellow LGBTQ writer, can all get together for our RL party. Yes, Coffee Porn Gang Shenanigans are certainly in the works, West. Until then, I am posting a little online party of West stops to visit.

There is a fantastic interview over at Andi Lea's blog. You can get a real feel for what it's like to hang out and chat with us at Coffee Porn. Well, except, maybe this would be Coffee Porn Lite. We can get a whole lot raunchier, folks. I'm not gonna lie.

You can enter to win a free copy of Transcend over at The Black Raven Erotic Cafe.

There was also a guest blog over at Julie Lynne Haye's place yesterday.

West will be around the web coming up at the following stops:

    http://karennacolcroft.com/ Jan 21

    http://rjscottauthor.blogspot.com/ Jan 21

    http://mfrw-authors.blogspot.com/ Jan 26

Last, but not least, if you haven't already read them, I highly recommend her blog stories, Otherworldly Lover and Spectral Surprise. Happy reading, peeps. I'm off to buy my copy of Transcend.

Fantastic Cover Art, Coffee Porn Friends, and Midnight Free Romance.

One of my fellow coffee porn friends, West Thornhill, has her first book coming out next month. Transcend will be released on January 21st by Silver Publishing. This is the first of The Fillmore Series. Today, West unveiled the fantastic cover art by Reese Dante! I love that Reese went for something different.

Gael and Jason are delicious. I'm a lucky member of West's writing group, so I've gotten a sneak preview at parts of Transcend. Still, I'm poised to click on Silver's add to my cart button, because I cannot wait to read the finished product. Congratulations, West!

You can try out a sample of West's writing for free here during Silver Flash Wednesdays. The latest Flash will post at midnight.

And speaking of free romance at midnight, the next chapter of La Playa Blanca will post right here, too. Only two more chapters to go. Come enjoy sunset on the beach with Shane and Andrew.

    La Playa Blanca: Chapter Three

The latest chapter of La Playa Blanca is up. Hope you enjoy chapter three. Things are beginning to heat up between Shane and Andrew. Picture stormy kisses!

As always, don't forget to check out the Silver gang's free reads. May I suggest starting out with West Thornhill's latest flash, and then linking to all the others from there.

Plus, if you haven't already, I highly recommend you go read the first five chapters of Scholar's Rock over on Andi Lea's blog. It's fantastic. I can't wait for the book to come out! It's still in the works.

Happy Hump Day to all and to all a good night!

I Had My Cake and I Ate it, too!

Well, the big day is over, and all the cake has been eaten. Yes, indeed. I said ALL the cake!

Still, The Month of Me marches on. I have another geek girl party to attend over at Andi Lea's place tomorrow night, because she is the rocking bestest friend around. I also have several other notable plans coming up to keep me happy. I'm telling you, once you hit 40, you need to do it up right!

Again, so you don't feel left out of the fun, here are a few little places to go today. There is a small call for writers over at From the Write Angle. I agree, we do need a good luck phrase of our very own. You know, like the theater performer's "Break a leg!" "Break a binding" just doesn't have the same punch. So head on over and help come up with something clever, please.

The Silver authors have started another Flash Wednesday free read. It just started last week. You can head on over to West Thornhill's place for her Spectral Surprise story, and at the bottom there are links to all the other free reads. Enjoy!

If you like the mysterious, there is an intriguing blog going up in front of our very eyes called Tattered Wings. I don't know much about it other than they contacted me and reeled me in with mysterious emails and pretty pictures. It should be fun to find out what it's all about.

And, in more important and serious news, please remember to wear purple tomorrow for Spirit Day, in support of our LGBTQ youth. And, over at Freedom to Marry, there's trouble brewing in Minnesota. If you support the cause, you should check this out!
