Scary Books for All Hallows Read

All Hallows Read is a little something one of my favorite autors, Neil Gaiman, came up with. It's a fairly new tradition, one that is catching on as it should. The idea is simple. Give a scary book to someone for Halloween. I mean candy is good and all, but I agree with Neil, I'd rather have something I can really sink my teeth into, something that isn't quite so bad for them. So, I'm very glad that my colleagues over at The Ravens Crossing have decided to participate this year in All Hallows Read. We are giving away Book One: The 13 for free starting today, Monday, October 29th through Hallowe'en, Wednesday, October 31st. So head on over to Smashwords to download your copy and make sure you send your friends over. Give the gift of a free book the Halloween!

    Free for Spirit Day!

Happy Spirit Day! It's one of my favorite days of the year. A day to wear purple and be seen around town, so you can show all the LGBTQ youth in your area that you support a community of tolerance and acceptance for all! So, today, I will be dressed in purple, of course, but this year we are going even one better to show our spirit. The Ravens Crossing has gone purple, too. For the entire weekend our first anthology, The Ravens Crossing, Book One: The 13 will be ABSOLUTELY FREE. Head on over to Smashwords to download a copy and celebrate Spirit Day with a fun science fiction adventure!

Adventures in The Grove: Science Fiction Makes me Happy

Last night, while I was posting my weekly Sharon & Alex flash fiction story to The Ravens Crossing (TRC), I got a little giddy. My mouse scrolled across the story button at the top of the page, and all those 14 weeks of stories appeared on my screen and I was suddenly grinning from ear to ear. This euphoria took me over and all I could do was laugh. TRC has been such a joy to work on that it often doesn't feel like work. So, when I noticed how much we'd accomplished, it made me ridiculously happy. This project, in all honesty, is some of the best writing I have ever done, and I have been writing and publishing in various forms for years, now. I guess the thrill comes because science fiction is something I've always wanted to write, the one genre that was the dream ideal, and now I am actually doing it. There is a lot to be said for living the dream. Anyway, Sharon & Alex are having a big adventure in The Grove, today. It would be an excellent day for you to go check out The Ravens Crossing. It's absolutely free, it's science fiction, and it's fun. Hope you enjoy!

A New Year of Boys Love. The Final Chapter is Here.

As the year comes to an end, so does the writing of my first novella. I just posted the final chapter of La Playa Blanca. It will be posted here as a  free read for a while, yet, while I decide where I want to sub it. I feel strangely sad now that it's finished and a little confused. On the one hand, I feel like this calls for a party, and on the other, I feel like partying would be inappropriate, since I have to say goodbye to these characters I've grown to love.

For those who have enjoyed the story, not to worry, I have an idea for Captain Jim's tale, and I'm playing with stories for several of the other characters, too. Shane and Andrew will definitely be a part of these. In the meantime, I have started several unrelated M/M contemporary romances, so it promises to be a Happy New Year of boys love over at Casa Corlies.

I hope you will enjoy reading La Playa Blanca as much as I enjoyed writing it. Many thanks go out again to my fabulous editors and beta readers, Andi Lea, West Thornhill and G.H. Worth for all of their advice, and to my early beta readers Cherie Noel and Kortny Alexander. You ladies are all awesome sauce with extra awesome on the side!
