    Packing for Floyd Fest

This Thursday, the annual Floyd Fest adventure begins. I'm off to the mountains west of here to meet my peeps from all over the country. I look forward to this every year, because so many of my eclectic friends, from zookeepers to artist to musicians, all show up in the same place. For five days, we make a lot of joyful noise. I usually come home barely able to walk because I have danced myself into exhaustion. There is no better thing than good live music, happy people, and dancing in the clean mountain air. This week's line up is amazing. I understand there are still tickets available. I find it ironic that this year, on the year my first Romance story was published, the festival theme is Lover's Rock.

Anyway, I will be offline and probably without any cell service for most of this week. No more blog posts from me. I am checking out. But, there is plenty for you to read over at The Ravens Crossing, where all of our main characters are continuing to be interviewed this week. Fun stuff is posting at TRC every day, as usual. Don't miss it! There are also three spin off adult M/M Romance stories that were part of the Love is Always Write event over on Goodreads. You have to join the group to read, but it's free. If you want more of the Wildwood universe and characters, you can go read The Hearty Boys by Andi Lea, Advantage Cross by West Thornhill, and my story is called Cory's Pride. Now I have to get back to my extremely long to do list, if I am going to get everything done. Before I go, here's a taste of what I love best about Floyd Fest. You never know who you will meet and what new and fantastic talent you will discover in that place.

Quite a few years back, this totally unknown musician here in the states, Xaviar Rudd, was setting up his didgeridoos. I stood around the stage with a group of about ten people chatting merrily with the him while he got all his equipment set where he wanted it. Judging by the looks on everyone's faces, we were all wondering what he was going to play. He was extremely nice, and we enjoyed hanging with him after the show, as well. At the time, very few people here knew anything about this Aussie. I certainly didn't have a clue. Let me tell you, when he started to play, just him, sounding a whole lot like this vid I've posted, it was magic. I knew without a doubt he was going to be huge. You could see the magic happening in front of your very eyes. It was like the peid piper had arrived. Before he was done with his set, I'm fairly sure everyone at the festival had come to check out his sound. And the rest is history...
